| Olympic Spotlight on.Maria Sharapova |
 |
| July 19th, 2008 |
|
| Question |
How excited are you about the Olympics? |
| Maria Sharapova |
I'm very excited. It's every young boy's and girl's dream to participate in the Olympics. To actually know that it's coming up in a few months is very exciting and I'm very looking forward to being a part of it. |
| Question |
You've talked about when you were growing up, you imagined being at the Olympics. |
| Maria Sharapova |
I did. It was one of the things that my parents allowed me to watch on TV late. One of those was the opening ceremony. I remember being up at one in the morning because I'd have to wait until Russia would come up. Obviously, that's a later letter in the alphabet. So it was very exciting. |

| Wimbledon: Second Round Interview |
 |
| June 26th, 2008 |
|
| Question |
Have you got any explanation for what went on out there today? |
| Maria Sharapova |
I guess it wasn't my day. She just did everything better than I did. You know, she played much better. She hit the ball harder. She, uhm, you know, served and returned better. On grass, you know those are two important elements. You know, once you don't have a lot on the ball then your opponent can take advantage of that. Obviously she had nothing to lose. She went for her shots. I was just pretty tentative. |
| Question |
Is there any part of your game today you were happy with? |
| Maria Sharapova |
I can't be really happy about anything today. |

| First round Interview after beating Stephanie Foretz |
 |
| June 24th, 2008 |
|
| Question |
One down, six more to go? |
| Maria Sharapova |
You could look at it that way, yeah. |
| Question |
Feel comfortable out there? |
| Maria Sharapova |
Yeah, it was definitely a good start, considering I didn't have a warmup tournament like I usually do. My main goal is just to go out there, get a feel for it as fast as I could and get the job done. |
| Question |
Quite an eye catching outfit. |
| Maria Sharapova |
Thank you. |

| Pre-Wimbledon Interview |
 |
| June 22nd 2008 |
|
| Question |
Are you going to watch the football game today? |
| Maria Sharapova |
Absolutely. |
| Question |
What do you think about Russia's chances? |
| Maria Sharapova |
We'll, we're playing a pretty tough team, but I'm very excited. I'm not in a hotel room. I'm actually in a house this time. I'm going to watch it with a group of friends, my dad. I think I have a Russian hat from Fed Cup. I might wear that.
I'm excited. It's going to be tough, but you never know. Turkey wasn't the favorite yesterday and they won. |
| Question |
What have you been doing since Paris? |
| Maria Sharapova |
Uhm, took a few days off. You know, I went back on the practice court and just worked, yeah. |

| Roland Garros: Second Round Interview |
 |
| May 30th, 2008 |
|
| Question |
Just talk about it. I mean, yesterday was a tough day, but today weather was a little better and you found some rhythm in the third set. |
| Maria Sharapova |
Yeah. It's just kind of been a strange tournament so far, from the first round, playing in very difficult conditions to a long wait yesterday.
I actually didn't think I was going to go on, you know, looking at the way the matches were going on our court. And then actually playing and, you know, playing quite well yesterday. |
