Maria Sharapova certainly easy on the eyes, so it’s no wonder Tatler Russia magazine featured and she looks beautiful on the cover of next month's Russian Tattler. Her clothes are another story.
Sarah Thurmond says she looks like Daisy Buchanan. C Note has a more matronly take. I'm more concerned with the blouse tucked in and the hat that makes it look like she should be enjoying the Kentucky Derby.

Maria Sharapova is widely considered one of the hottest female athletes today. So, in that respect, we’re willing to give her a pass for this fashion faux pas. Sharapova claimed she wanted to try a different look for the Russian magazine version of Tattler, but the cover itself shows Sharapova in granny panties.There’s really no other way to describe it–it looks like something out of a “Little House on the Prairie” episode. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, because as a horny adolescent, Melissa Gilbert did tickle my fancy.
Sharapova said in a message to her fans that the shoot was done "months ago," and that "we tried to do something very different. I hope you enjoy it."
The three-time Grand Slam champion hasn't played a WTA match since losing at the Australian Open. She's scheduled to take the court again early next month at Indian Wells.
The stylist was kinder to Sharapova on the inside spread.
And with her modeling career seeming to really be taking off – it was recently announced that Miss Sharapova is the face of Cole Haan Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign.
Does she look like she should be hanging in East Egg? Sure. But Sharapova looks gorgeous in all of those pictures, no matter the wardrobe. And no matter what sort of lacy undergarments she's wearing on the outside, nothing could be worse than her outfit from last year's Australian Open.
