The draw for the BNP-Paribas Open at Indian Wells has been released and Maria is seeded #16 and has a bye in the first round.

In the second round, Maria will face either a qualifier or Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain.

Maria could face #20 seed Aravane Rezai of France in the third round and #4 seed Samantha Stosur of Australia in the fourth round.

Maria has played Indian Wells 9 times before and her best result is taking the title in 2006.
