Danai Udomchoke has been paired with Maria Sharapova and Paradorn Srichaphan will team up with Venus Williams in a mixed doubles exhibition match in Hua Hin on Saturday.
The draw was made yesterday and both Thai men said they were delighted to be playing alongside the world's leading female players.
Former top-ranked players Williams and Sharapova will meet in an exhibition in the Hua Hin Centennial Invitation which will be followed by the mixed doubles match.
Both will arrive in Thailand on Friday. The event to mark Hua Hin's 100th anniversary at the Centennial Park starts at 2.30pm and will be televised live on Channel 3.
“I am happy to play alongside Maria," newly-wed Danai said after yesterday’s draw.
“I have met Maria in many major tournaments such as Wimbledon and I support her as well.
“When we get a point it will be normal to touch hands.”
Former world No.9 Paradorn said: "To partner Venus will be good as she is a world-class player.
“It is also good to play against Maria.
“It will be an exciting match and give a colourful New Year to fans here.”
Russian Sharapova, who will make her second visit to Thailand after her first in 2005, said she was looking forward to the event."I have heard many great things about Hua Hin. I am really excited to start 2010 there," she said in a statement.
"I have been working really hard on and off the court and I can't wait to get to Thailand."
American Williams said: "I'm very excited that I will see Hua Hin. I will try to do as much sightseeing as I can and I'd like to taste Thai food."
Suwat Liptapanlop, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand (LTAT), said he was confident that the duo would have a great time in Thailand.
“Maria and Venus are both keen to enjoy as much Thai experience as they can," he said.
“They have informed us that they are looking forward to some great Thai food and hospitality during their stay.”
