Maria and Justine Henin of Belgium were back on Chatrier Court to resume the 3rd set of their 3rd round match at Roland Garros and Maria was edged out 3-6 by Henin. Henin won the match 2-6 6-3 3-6.
Maria started the final set well by taking a 2-0 lead and was up 40-0 on Henin's serve in the next game, but Henin managed to hold serve and take that game and the next 3 to lead 4-2. In the next game, Maria broke Henin to get the set back on serve but it wasn't enough as Maria lost the next 2 games and the match.
Birmingham will be Maria's next tournament which will begin on June 7th.
