The world No. 7 ranked Maria Sharapova has worked out on Court Suzanne Lenglen at Roland Garros on Thursday, ahead of the French Open begins on Sunday.
Maria Sharapova has won the WTA tournament recently in Rome Masters recently. She has been working hard in Paris on Thursday, as she is preparing for the 2011 French Open event. The Russian star is one the hot favorite to lift the clay court title in Paris along with world No. 1 Caroline wozniacki and Julia Goerges.
The 24-year-old Sharapova has entered into the third round at the Roland Garros Grand Slam last year. Several past champions in Roland Garros event are minor threats to her, where she had to play at her best to lift the title. Sharapova had never advanced into the French Open finals, as she could face a tough draw in the event.
The Russian star has trained with her coach on Thursday at Court Suzanne Lenglen at Roland Garros with a most of her spent on her serve. Sharapova has climbed one position to No. 8 to No. 7 in the WTA Rankings in last week, where she has defeated Samantha Stosur of Australia in the Rome Master finals last week.
Sharapova hopes to win the first ever French Open tournament in his career at Roland Garros.
