She's the Amazonian Russian tennis player - so it was only natural that Maria Sharapova needed a huge rock from her fiancé, and not just to be in proportion with her frame.
The 6ft 2ins star, who's also reportedly the world's highest-paid female sports star, got engaged to her NBA basketall player boyfriend Sasha Vujacic last October and was seen sporting the huge diamond on her ring finger as she walked around Paris at the weekend.
The loved-up couple, who have been dating for more than a year, were hand-in-hand as they strolled the streets of the French capital in the spring sunshine - though even 6ft 7ins Sasha, 27, towered over Maria when it came to height.
The former world Number One is the seventh seed in the competition having suffered from a viral illness in February this year which saw her pull out of tournaments in Paris, Doha and Dubai.
However, she looked fully-recovered at the weekend on her romantic stroll - and certainly back to full strength on the court today.
Maria, who has lived in the U.S. since she was seven to concentrate on her tennis, has so far landed three Grand Slam singles titles in her career - in 2004 at Wimbledon, 2006 in the US Open and at the 2008 Australian Open.
However, due to her stunning blonde looks, she's branched out into modelling and has featured in the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, as well as being the face of brands including Nike and Canon.
As a consequence, Forbes magazine ranked her at 81 in the list of 100 most powerful celebrities of 2010.
Her on-court grunt is certainly powerful - in 2005, it was recorded at a staggering 101 decibels at Wimbledon.
At least there's no danger then of anyone not being able to her say her vows when she ties the knot next year.
Her Slovenian fiancé Sasha meanwhile slam dunks for the New Jersey Nets and isn't short of a bob or two either, earning a reported $5.5million a year.
