The former World No. 1 Maria Sharapova will play against Bojana Jovanovski in the second round of the 2011 Rogers Cup tournament. The Match will begin at 23:05 GMT at the Rexall Centre in Toronto.
The 24-year-old Maria Sharapova is one of the toughest contenders in the Rogers Cup event, a WTA premier event being played here in Toronto. Sharapova has played well in this season, where she had reached the final at Wimbledon and semi final at French Open. In the West Classic tournament, Sharapova has lost to Serena Williams in the third round in straight sets with a 6-1 and 6-1 of the event.
The Russian star had received first round bye and will play second round match against Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia on Wednesday at Rexall Centre in Toronto. The young Serbian star Jovanovski has reached the second round, after her first round opponent Australian Veteran Jelena Dokic has retired from the match.
Both the players are meeting for the first time in career, where Sharapova is looking huge favorite to win the second round match at Rexall Centre on Wednesday.
In the other matches, the former World No.1 Serena Williams will face Julia Goerges, Ana Ivanovic will clash against Iveta Benesova and World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki to play against Roberta Vinci in the second round at Rexall Centre.
