Maria Sharapova has been in great in this tournament and will play young German, Sabine Lisicki in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open being held at Miami. Both players are ranked outside the top ten in the tournament.
Maria Sharapova has been in great in this tournament and will play young German, Sabine Lisicki in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open being held at Miami. Both players are ranked outside the top ten in the tournament.
Sharapova has been showing good improvement as she has eliminated opponents like Aravene Rezai and former number one Dinara Safina at the BNP Paribas Open which was held at Indian Wells before making it to the quarterfinals. She is currently seeded at number 16 at the Soy Ericsson Open.
Sabine Lisicki has not been doing great this year. The German has been taking first and second round hits at WTA tournaments. Lisicki will have to come up with all her strength to stand a chance aginst the former number one Sharapova. Lisicki is unseeded in this tournament.
Both the players have never met before and this is the first time they will play each other.. Sharapova has one of the best strokes in the women’s game and punch those bullet forehands whenever needed. Lisicki on the other has a very strong defensive play and possesses powerful footwork. Sharapova should be able to get the win in straight sets.
