BANGKOK, 2 January 2010 (NNT) - Top tennis players Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams send new years greetings to the Thai public after landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday morning.
After expressing her excitement about playing in Bangkok, Ms Sharapova wished Thai people luck and happiness for the New Year.
Meanwhile, world number 6 female tennis player Venus Williams encouraged people to write on her Facebook page to send wishes for the new year after wishing the Thai people happiness.
Both are scheduled to play at the newly-built 5,000-seat Centennial Park Court at the Intercontinental Resort Hotel at 14.30 hrs today. The Hua Hin Centennial Invitation tournament has been organized to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Hua Hin district which is in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
After the singles match, Sharapova and Williams will play in a mixed doubles match at Muang Thong Thani stadium in Bangkok, pairing with Thailand's top players Danai Udomchoke and Paradon Srichaphant.
