Former world No.1 players, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova and Caroline Wozniacki will be squaring off in an exhibition match at Madison Square Garden at MSG on 5th March, 2012.16-time grand slam champion, Roger Federer and 2003 US open champion, Andy Roddick will be facing against each other on March 5th in three set, which has been part of the annual BNP Paribas Showdown exhibition.
Both the players have clashed 25 times in past, as the Swiss Maestro, Federer is leading the contest with 22-3 against the American former No.1, Roddick and they have battled four times in a grand slam finals, three in Wimbledon and one in US Open, as the 16 times champ has won all the four encounter. The best grand slam finals encounter between both of them was in 2009 Wimbledon, where, Roger Federer has beaten Andy Roddick in a thrilling tie set victory with a score line of 5-7 7-6(6) 7-6(5) 3-6 16-14.
While, Russian former No.1, Maria Sharapova will be taking on Caroline Wozniacki in the BNP Paribas Showdown exhibition.In 2008 exhibition at MSG, Roger Federer has thrashed out the American former No.1, Pete Sampras, while Andy Roddick has never has played at the arena used for New York Knicks and New York Rangers games.
