She may have lost on Saturday but nobody could say that Maria Sharapova went quietly.
Even as her tennis game was silenced by Petra Kvitova, the screams that accompany every shot the 24-year-old Russian plays these days continued to echo round Centre Court.
At 101 decibels on The Mail on Sunday's digital sound meter, Sharapova's loudest effort in the final was more deafening than a freight train at full tilt, which registers a mere 90db, or traffic on the M25, which struggles to hit 80db.
Try as she might, though, Sharapova failed to challenge the really big players in the decibel league.
American rock band KISS have hit 136db during their ear-splitting concert performances.
While Sharapova regularly hit three figures on our meter - if not winners on the court - her opponent sounded as though she had taken a vow of silence.
The 21-year-old did manage 52db as she hit one forehand winner, but that is below the level of normal conversation.
Yet Kvitova did make one significant contribution to the afternoon's soundtrack - the roar of approval from the crowd that greeted her victory.
