The World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Russian Maria Sharapova looks hot favorite to clinch the title at US Open championship this year at Flushing Meadows Park of Queens in New York.
The 24-year-old Djokovic has been looking good form, where he has made 57-2 win loss record in this year. Serbian, who has lost just one match to Roger Federer in the French Open semi finals and retire from the Cincinnati Masters final to Andy Murray, due to shoulder injury last week. Djokovic has won two Grand Slam events at Australian Open in January and 2011 Wimbledon on last month.
Djokovic had best record against the best players in this season, where he has 5-0 win loss record against Nadal and 3-1 record with Roger Federer. The 2011 Australian Open winner Djokovic is recovering from shoulder injury and will be fully fit to play in the US Open. The three-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova, who has won Cincinnati Masters last week, beating former World No. 1 Jelena Jankovic in three sets with a 4–6, 7–6(3) and 6–3 and it is the longest WTA tour final this year with 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The Russian star Sharapova has played outstandingly, as she reached the Wimbledon final at All England Club and French Open semi final at Roland Garros this year and also won Rome Masters event. Sharapova said that, she had improved a lot and hopes to win the US Open title for the second occasion in her career.
