Well the world of sports, and more specifically that housed by its women, has a new star that is a combination of everything you want success to mean.
Maria Sharapova is making her way back to the top of the heap in the tennis world. The seventh ranked woman in the world just took down Agnieszka Radwanska at the French Open. She is but a skip away from clinching the all-important clay tourney.
Winning at Roland Garros would usher Sharapova back to the top of the tennis world. As we know, sheer brilliance in the sporting world is not enough anymore.
The man who considers himself a king, LeBron James, wants nothing more than to be a global icon. You can consider Sharapova one of those. She is the most wealthy female athlete after all.
According to BrandChannel, she has made over $24 million from June 2009 to June 2010. That was just the beginning. Her deal with is worth $70 million. It also allows her to design sportswear, further extending her touch to sports fans worldwide.
There is no other woman that has the range of entrepreneurship while maintaining a stranglehold on her talents on the court. All of this has me once again asking the question, what's up with that Sasha Vujacic guy.
