Top seeded Russian players, Maria Sharapova and Vera Zvonareva will be squaring off in a Taipei exhibition to promote and raise funds for the earthquake and tsunami victims, which happened in Japan, 2011. World No.2, Maria Sharapova will be battling against fellow country player and world No.4, Vera Zvonareva in a Taipei exhibition on Thursday, September 22, 2011, which will be held at Taipei Arena in Taiwan.
Both the Russian tennis players are visiting for the time to Taiwan and will be playing against for the first time against each other in an Exhibition. However, both the top seeded players have clashed 10-times in past, as the world’s highest-paid woman in professional sports, Maria Sharapova is leading the contest with 7-3 against the world No.4, Zvonareva.World No.2, Maria Sharapova has showed a top class performance this season winning two-masters titles at Rome and Cincinnati and has got a win-loss record of 41-11 in 2011. However, the top seeded Russian could not able run till the end at the Grand Slam tournaments.
Former No.1, Sharapova has been thrashed out in the fourth round of the Australian Open, reached Semifinals in French Open, Finals in Wimbledon and was beaten in very third round of the last grand slam tournament in US Open.Russian World No.4, Vera Zvonareva has won tow-titles this at Doha and Baku with a win-loss record of 49-17 in 2011. She has been in full-form by reaching the finals stages of every tournament in 2011. But, she could not able to overcome against the top seeded players in WTA.
With both the Russian top seeded players, Sharapova and Zvonareva will be clashing in an exhibition; it could be most exciting and thrilling which would be remembered for the tennis fans at Taiwan.Along with Russia tennis starts, tow kids will join and play with two best tennis players in world. Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer will be competing in the exhibition, which will be held at National Taiwan Sport University on 1st October, 2011.
