The draw for the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami has been released and Maria is seeded No.16 and has a bye in the first round. In the second round Maria will play either Kristina Barrois of Germany or Petra Martic of Croatia. This match will be played on Thursday.
The first seed Maria can meet is No.18 seed Nadia Petrova of Russia in the third round.
Maria has missed this tournament the last 3 years due to injury but she has played here 5 times before and her best result was reaching the final in 2006.
